LockOnMe
User Guide

With LockOnMe you can easily pin fixed positions on the mapopen new window symbol (search for a place or just right-click/long-press on a spot), change the map style (80+ to choose from), and then save or share the page URL.

LockOnMe also enables you to broadcast your live location and/or create Points Of Interest (POIs) – once connected to your own LockOnMe target.

What's a LockOnMe target?
Your own target will be defined by your chosen Target ID & Tracking Code: its "target details".

Those who have your Target ID & Tracking Code will be able to track your target, thereby accessing your POIs and/or broadcast location.

As a demo, you can track MeganB / treadstone:

It follows that changing the Tracking Code (while still keeping the same Target ID) would result in an entirely new target; so for example MeganB / Violet would convey a different live location and/or set of POIs.

  • The Web Tracking Console (WTC) at lockon.meopen new window symbol can display fixed positions, track targets' live (or last transmitted) locations and/or POIs, create new Target IDs & Tracking Codes, and manage the POIs of a connected target.
  • The mobile apps (Android | Wear OSopen new window symbol) can do all of the above, plus they can broadcast the live location and feature offline radar displays.

Caution: NO WARRANTY can be provided for the use of LockOnMe, including relative to the capacity to locate or transmit positions, since that is conditioned by external factors such as GPS coverage, network availability, the state of the device running the application, etc. Therefore, you should not rely on it for life- or mission-critical service.

Privacy: Target details and positions are NOT shared with third parties – apart from Public Targets, which users voluntarily submit. Location history is NOT stored, as the latest position broadcast immediately replaces the one stored on the server.
